Located in Gatlinburg’s private Cobbly Nob neighborhood—itself set within a 1,000-acre resort—Woodshed has a back deck that stretches the width of the house and looks out over dense woodlands toward the Smoky Mountains. You’ll be in laid-back vacation mode before you know it! Cook kabobs or fresh-caught trout on the charcoal grill—the fresh mountain air is an ideal seasoning—and then savor your meal out on the deck too, at the roomy patio table. And luxuriate in the outdoor hot tub while wrens and swallows serenade you in the daytime or owls and whippoorwills sing you a lullaby at night.

You don’t have to be on the deck to revel in the beauty surrounding Woodshed. The living room’s wall of picture windows floods the room with sunlight and lets you gaze out at the mountains even as you stretch out on the oversized leather sectional sofa. The sofa is, in fact, large enough for the whole group to sprawl out for movie night—the living room has a TV with cable and a DVD player.
