As soon as you enter the A-frame cabin, you’ll see just how much loving care went into creating it. The planked-wood floor, walls and vaulted ceiling gleam, as does the handcrafted spiral stair leading up to the loft. In winter, the golden glow from the stone-surround fireplace will make the open-plan living spaces feel even more inviting if that’s possible.
The plump-cushioned sofa is a cozy spot for nesting together as you watch a movie on the flat-panel 42-inch TV. It has a DVD player and cable channels including HBO, so you can keep up with your favorite shows. The sofa also opens into a comfy bed for two.
The polished log dining table can seat up to four people. Given that there’s a picnic table on the deck, though, we have a feeling you’ll want to eat outside every chance you get. The fresh mountain breeze rustling through the trees and the sight of falcons and eagles swooping above the mountaintops will turn any meal into a special occasion.

Less than 10 minutes away is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk. Also conveniently close is the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an eight-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios and craft shops.
